かつて京の庶民が愛用していたと伝わる浅葱椀。
京漆器の技術と伝統を次世代に受け継ぐため、
木地師と塗師、漆精製師、木材生産者らが知恵と力を合わせ、
私たちの暮らしに寄り添う現代のアサギ椀が生まれました。
アサギ椀は人と人をつなぎ、森の再生にも貢献しています。
今展ではアサギ椀を担う若き作家たちの作品もご紹介します。

Asagi Bowl Exhibition
October 21st (Saturday) — October 29th (Wednesday), 2023

The Asagi Bowl, once a staple among the common folk of Kyoto, has been reimagined for the modern age. Woodworkers, lacquerers, and material producers have combined their skills and ingenuity to pass on the venerable techniques and traditions of Kyoto lacquerware. The result is a contemporary Asagi Bowl that brings people together and contributes to forest sustainability. This exhibition features the works of emerging artists dedicated to carrying the legacy of the Asagi Bowl into the future.
